Another week, another #MCM (Market Crush Monday)! This week we talked to Corinne from Lovin’ Mama Farm, a new farm with us this season. Corinne and her family bring a wide variety of certified organic, no-till produce and flowers to the market every Saturday.

1. How did you get started?
We originally started our farm in Northern California 10 years ago, but then moved back to our family land in New York. We started from scratch and now grow 250 varieties of vegetables, herbs and flowers on our 1.5 acres in Amsterdam where our three kids, who are all homeschooled, work with us on the farm.

2. Can you tell me some of the benefits of no-till farming?
Tillage releases a significant amount of atmospheric carbon and nitrogen emissions and erodes top soil. No-till farming builds large amounts of organic matter in the soil, sequestering atmospheric carbon which builds healthy soil and allows us to grow healthy food!

3. What are your most popular products at the farmers’ market?
The tulips have been really popular, especially with Mother’s Day this past weekend, as well as our edible flowers, baby lettuce and microgreens.
